1 Dress 4 Looks: Lost in the Garden of Eden

1 Dress 4 Looks

For today's dress I decided to use a more versatile piece called Lost in the Garden of Eden by brand Chrysanthemum's Concerto. It is an unusual shade of matcha green and features a simple gingham pattern and a small bow at the top of the bodice and lace and frill at the bottom of the skirt. The dress also has shirring which makes it extremely comfortable and as a result it has become one of my most worn dresses as it can be worn casually. Unfortunately recently I have been coordinating it the same way each time I wear it, making it a perfect candidate for this challenge!

I styled this first coordinate the way I usually style this dress, I usually wear it in the summer hence the bolero and socks. This is usually worn casually just out and about, not necessarily to a lolita meet, it's comfortable and simple enough to not draw to much unwanted attention when grocery shopping!

The first coordinate was for summer so I thought it might be fun to try and make a winter coordinate for this piece. I don't currently own a long sleeve white plain blouse suitable for the winter months so that will need to be addressed before next winter, but honestly... I think this works! The white in the dress is very easy to work with and I will admit... is a little bit of an obvious choice but who can resist fluffy white coordinates when the snow starts? Not me that's for sure!

For the third coordinate I decided to really step out of my comfort zone and decided to go for a Qi lolita look. The cardigan and bag matched the dress which I was pleasantly surprised about as the green is usually hard to match, I do own a couple of Qi lolita dresses now which I can twin with my friend in but it is definitely a style I am not confident in quite yet. Despite this I do love this coordinate and with how warm the cardigan it, perhaps it's time I branch out into this wonderful sub-style!

What kind of challenge would this be if I didn't try to shoehorn red into a coordinate and add strawberries? So here it is... my casual strawberry coordinate... which surprisingly works! I kind of love it, the pops of red are balanced with shoes at the bottom, bag in the middle, and blouse and small strawberry clip in the upper areas. The earrings, bag and bracelet tie the whole thing together with the theme and I can't believe it worked!  Red and green will definitely be seen on this lolita!

This dress is even more versatile than I thought! I was definitely lucky the Qi lolita items matched so well but I would actually wear all of these coordinates without changing much, Coordinates 3 and 4 are particularly interesting and I can't wait to wear them out in the wild!

  1. I really like how different no.4 is. And you managed a red and green coord without Christmas vibes, which is even more impressive!

My Lolita Origin Story

My Lolita Origin Story Once upon a time in the summer of 2012, a young 19 year old decided to finally buy a lolita dress. She had discovered the fashion through anime and didn't know much about it, all she knew was it was poofy... pink... and came from Japan! Ok so you've probably guessed that this girl was me... unfortunately the resources back then weren't as plentiful as they are now and... well... lets just say that a certain infamous site sold me my first lolita dress.... Yes.... the waist bow is on my head as a headbow and is bigger than my head... and yes the petti is too small and the chest bow is floppy and pathetic... no it didn't look anything like the picture on the website. And no that isn't a lolita blouse, I didn't delve into the fashion again for a long time after this! So I definitely had a rough start but despite not wearing the fashion, I always came back to it and admired it from afar. Then, in 2020, during lock-down, I decided to take the p...

1 Dress 4 Looks: Chocoberry

1 Dress 4 Looks So, for my first post I thought I would start with a simple coordinate challenge, inspired by Cupcake Kamisama, (https://cupcakes-and-unicorns.blogspot.com/). If you haven't seen Cupcake Kamisama's blog yet I would highly recommend it as its extremely inspirational! Doing this challenge in particular will allow me to get a feel for how to format the blog, and a chance to have some fun! Although the temptation to do the around your wardrobe in 30 coordinates challenge is taking hold and I'm sure I will get to it sooner rather than later! The main piece I chose for this challenge is Chocoberry by Bodyline in the Beige colourway, I will use this piece to create 4 different looks, challenging myself to style it in ways I normally wouldn't. Skirt Bodyline, Shoes Sosic Shop, Bag Morning Glory, Blouse Sakya Lolita, Headbow Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Socks Roji Roji, Clips Aliexpress unknown creator. I decided to start this challenge with a coordinate I wo...

1 Dress 4 Looks: Cream Cookie Collection

1 Dress 4 Looks For today's challenge I am using Angelic Pretty's Cream Cookie Collection in Sax in the high waist cut. This dress has full shirring and is extremely comfortable! It has been worn several times by me already, but usually in the same way, so I challenged myself to not use a pink blouse for this challenge as that is my normal go to for this dress. Dress Angelic Pretty, Blouse Bacio Bouquet, Shoes Sosic Shop, Bag Diamond Honey, Socks Aliexpress Unknown Creator, Headbow Angelic Pretty, Biscuit Necklace, Ring and Earrings BB&B Deco, Bow Ring Cat Tea Party, Sweet Rings Unknown Taobao Store, Cookie Brooch Mikan. In this first coordinate I wanted to portray a typical sweet lolita look without it being too over the top. Something that could be worn at a simple meetup for bobo or the park. The blouse has a pom pom purin embroidered image on the collar but the cookie brooch pinned on top of that hides it well and keeps to the theme of the dress, which is biscuits. The...
